IN-HOME TECHNOLOGY HELP

A useful place
to start.

Share the device and the issue.
Paul will review the job first.

Computer setup and troubleshooting

Software problems, a new PC or laptop, or planning a file transfer. What can be transferred depends on the old device’s condition and whether its files are accessible.

Home Wi-Fi and router help

Investigate connection problems, modem and router setup, and everyday home-network issues. Some problems need your internet provider or replacement equipment.

Printer setup and troubleshooting

Set up a printer, connect it to Wi-Fi or investigate common printing problems. Share the model and the computer or device you want to print from.

Email and account settings

Help with email setup, account settings and available recovery options. You stay in control of passwords and verification codes.

Streaming and smart-device setup

Connect and set up streaming devices and smart-home equipment. Share the model first so Paul can confirm whether the setup is within scope.

Everyday technology advice

Patient answers to computer questions, help thinking through a purchase, and basic guidance on updates, account habits and backups.

Not sure it’s on the list?

Describe the issue. Paul will let you know if a specialist or another provider is a better fit. Advanced data recovery, electronics repair and specialized cybersecurity or compliance work are outside the listed services.

IN-HOME TECHNOLOGY VISITS

Know the
starting point.

The initial visit covers useful assessment, troubleshooting or setup. Some issues need more time, replacement equipment, parts or a specialist. A fix within the first hour is not guaranteed.

If more work is needed, we’ll agree on the scope, when additional billing starts and the revised total before continuing. No extra charges are applied retroactively.

LET’S START WITH WHAT’S HAPPENING

Tell Paul about
your technology.

Share the device, what it’s doing, what you’ve already tried and your city or neighborhood. You don’t need to diagnose the problem first.

Please leave passwords, verification codes, payment details and sensitive business information out of your message.

A FEW HELPFUL ANSWERS

Home technology
questions.

Could a Wi-Fi problem be the router or internet provider?

Either is possible. Tell Paul whether all devices lose the connection or just one, when it happens, and which modem and router you use. Some problems need your internet provider or replacement equipment.

What should I have ready for printer setup?

Have the printer, its power cable and the computer or device you want to print from available. Share the printer model and any error message before the visit. You enter your own passwords or verification codes if needed.

Can you move files to a new computer?

Paul can help plan a transfer and set up the new computer. What’s possible depends on the old device’s condition and file accessibility. Tell Paul whether it turns on and which models are involved. Advanced data recovery is outside the listed services.

Is everything fixed in the first hour?

Not always. The $50 in-home visit covers up to one hour of assessment, troubleshooting or setup. Before the hour ends, Paul will discuss any further work. Additional time is $37.50 per approved 30-minute block. Parts, replacement equipment, paid software and any travel costs are separate and agreed beforehand.
